Walter Brueggemann: Sabbath Requires Work

Crackers-Banner.jpg

In this episode Jason, Taylor, and I interviewed the world famous Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann whose 50 some books can be found on just about every pastors’ shelves.

Dr. Brueggemann shares what it means to be a community of resistance, the challenge of sabbath, and his favorite curse word to use when describing the biblical encounter between David and Bathsheba. We also found out who Dr. Brueggemann would put his money on in a Brueggemann vs. Wright street brawl.

And he laughs. A lot.

In the coming weeks David Bentley Hart answers his fans’ questions, Beverly Gaventa unpacks how to interpret Paul’s letters apocalyptically, and former White House Press Secretary Mike McCurry talks about religion in the public square.
