Gnosticism
This Gnosticism is one of the earliest heresies of Christianity. This heresy asserts that there is a special knowledge one obtains once they become a believer in Jesus Christ. That is to say a special gnosis is handed down. This heresy also asserts that there is a separation between the physical body and the spirit, ie. that Jesus was not physically present on earth. He merely appeared to be a physical being.
While we resign Gnosticism to the early church, as we find out in this episode of (Her)Men*You*Tics, this heresy is still alive in the Church today.
