Did you know that the real Santa Nicholas was an orphan who devoted his life to serving the poor?
Today is Saint Nicholas Day! Children all over the world hung stockings out last night in hopes for goodies from St. Nick. The real Saint Nicholas was a Christian leader from the 4th century whose wealthy parents died when he was just a boy. Nicholas became famous and eventually was made a saint for his love and service to the poor.
Loving and serving are part of the Christmas Season. I want to invite you to bring your neighbors and friends and come help Santa package at least 10,000 meals for the poor and hungry of the world at Island Creek Elementary School Saturday, December 14, 2013 10 a.m. to noon.
